February: April Perrin - Musical Theatre Extravaganza!
Get ready to smile with April Perrin's Musical Theatre Extravaganza Dance Classes. Each week we will focus on one fabulous hit musical to get our bodies moving and shaking. We’ll begin with an MT inspired warm up and close it off learning a combo from the show. We will be kicking it off in the 60's and twisting along to the music from “Hairspray!” followed by a sexy Charleston from the classic musical “Chicago!” Next up, is the hand jive itself while we bop around to the hits from “Grease” and closing it out, the only way April know’s how…with the sensational “Mamma Mia!” Not a dancer first, no stress! These classes are open to all levels! Just show up with a open mind and get ready to be the Dancing Queen you dreamed
February: Tonye - Afrofest Time
This class will include Afro moves from different African countries, accessible for people and dancers of all skill levels with the goal of having fun!
February: Christine Friday - Healing & Storytelling
Rooted in our own healing. We have knowledge with in our own DNA- with in each of us is our own healing power. Finding balance inspired through physical movement and breathing we connect to our own inner power revealing our own individual teachings we begin to recognize the light in ourselves. This series will involve yoga, dance and storytelling Each session will begin with 30 minutes of Synergii: a combination of yoga and dance techniques. Participants will Inspire and create the opportunity to activate healthy life styles and choices. Promoting mental, emotional health and wellbeing directly connected to spirit and physical exercise. Participants will link to a land-based activity that will to connect to their own creation as it relates to healing and storytelling.

The Contemporary Combinations class will focus on choreo pick-up skills and learning how to make a general choreography one's own. It will focus on organic movement trailing from ballet technique and how to use that movement to improve transition skills. The class will start with a 15-minute warm up and stretch and will move right into a different combination for each of the four weeks. Students will have the opportunity to learn different contemporary styles and to ask questions pertaining to performance art and choreography.

This workshop, Reflected In Water, is aimed at exploring relationship to ourselves, each other and our environment. What are we moved by? How do we celebrate the diversity of our bodies and the multitude of ways we express ourselves? Reflected In Water looks at shared leadership in a dance class. This workshop looks at contemporary dance training informed by Anishinaabe worldview.
